Side Hustle Spark 197: System to Generate Content Ideas

Click the word cloud above for a two-minute curation of the post from socialmediaexaminer.com’s Matt Johnston: Social Media Content Ideas: A Perpetual Idea System

Why do I silent video curation when you could easily read the post?

  • Just a different approach to content.
  • Everybody learns and remembers differently.
  • I add a little highlighting which some of you may not want to mess with on your phone as you balance the scone and coffee. [In my case, it would be, while I spill the coffee as I break off a piece of the scone and watch the phone drop to the grimy floor.]
  • I am pointing out content more than directly teaching it.

Side Hustle Spark 181: Check out themanifest.com

While reading The Do’s and Don’ts of Publishing on Medium.com, I learned about themanifest.com.

You can subscribe to their how-to guides, here.

A realization: It’s entirely possible that the more resources I send you to, the less you’ll need to check in here. While I’m not trying to steer you away, hey, if the destinations help you more than this blog, then I guess ‘mission accomplished’.

Forge ahead!.

I promise I’ll keep plugging, myself.

Side Hustle Spark 180: Ali Mese and growthsupply.com

I liked this tagline found on growthsupply.com’s ‘Studio’ page.

I ran across Ali Mese while reading the post The Do’s and Don’ts of Publishing on Medium.com. (Note: You might need to sign in on medium.com to read that post. Otherwise, this article written by Rhonda Bradley can be found at The Manifest.

The writer noted that Ali (at the time with 64,000 readers) consistently uses bold statements, easy-to-read strategies (subheaders, numbered/bulleted lists), quotes, video, and social media posts in his pieces.

I followed up on Ali and his growthsupply.com site. (“Get smarter at building your thing.”)

Some relevant titles on the front page include:

Side Hustle Spark 162: Ross Simmonds and repurposing one blog post

Ross calls it his content marketing remix.

This post answers the following questions:

  1. What is a content distribution strategy?
  2. What is a content marketing remix?
  3. How do you know what’s worth remixing?

While we’re at it, let’s revisit some of his other good stuff…

Happy holidays to sidehustlecurator visitors.
Thanks for reading.

Wishing you a seriously great 2021.

Some intriguing ideas or reminders in this list:

  1. start marrying people [Think about it…during the pandemic you may not even be expected to attend in person! ;->]
  2. submit stock photos [If you’re out in nature, why not put your photographer’s eye to use? And many of you probably already have some sellable shots you’ve take through the years.]
  3. seamstress or tailor [How many of us have lived with the torn favorite jacket not knowing where to take it for ‘repairs’?]
  4. human photo-op [I’d better let Ross explain this one: “Dress up as a movie character, celebrity, or famous musician or comedian and charge people to take a picture with you.”
  5. bad sketch artist [Ross’s explanation: “People like funny too, so even if you create something so bad that it fits within that category, you can make a side hustle out of it.”]

Suggestion #19: I mean it! Explore CopyBlogger

So, what’s with the riveting image?

Yesterday, I mentioned two posts from CopyBlogger.com.

Then, ho hum, I thrilled readers with this explosive suggestion: Find some time to visit copyblogger.com.

Get to the point! The image!

You will find this on CopyBlogger’s blog page.

It tells you there are 330 pages of multiple blog posts, dating back to 2006.

I realize you side hustlers don’t have tons of time, but whoa, these people know what they’re talking about.

And they continue to share quality, in-step-with-the-times advice.

So, yes, there are plenty of courses out there, but if you were holed up at home [naaaah, that kind of thing doesn’t happen here in the U.S.] and wanted to get smarter, this would be a great place to start. Odds are questions that have been rattling around in your entrepreneur brain are addressed right here.

Have a great Thursday.
